Dr. Jens Gaarslev is a highly experienced adult psychiatrist based in Cairns, bringing over 20 years of psychiatric expertise to his practice at The Daintree Clinic and leadership roles as Medical Director in the private sector.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Gaarslev has served as a consultant psychiatrist in Denmark, Norway, New Zealand, and Australia, acquiring a diverse and comprehensive understanding of mental health care across various healthcare systems. In 2019, he introduced Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) to Far North Queensland (FNQ), and since 2021, TMS services have been provided through QueenslandTMS.
Dr. Gaarslev has a special interest in exploring novel therapeutic approaches, particularly for individuals facing treatment-resistant depression, and other complex mood disorders. His global experience and commitment to cutting-edge, evidence-based treatments ensure that his patients receive compassionate, personalized care with the most advanced mental health solutions available.
